Early 20th centuryDescription
The residence was constructed in the early 20th century. This single-story wooden residence stands on a tall plastered plinth and features a T-shaped layout. Its volumetric-spatial composition, structural methods, and decorative details adhere to the Pseudo-Russian style incorporating Art Nouveau elements. It is a log structure with ornately carved log ends at the corners and internal wall junctions.
“Notably, the building is believed to have owned by Nikolai Pavlovich Zatoplyaev. [...] who was born on 21 March 1858. [...] The residence [...] has not known analogues in the Nerchinsky District. A distinctive feature is the decorative treatment of its ornately carved log ends, complemented by pilaster strips and fretwork-framed window surrounds.”
Currently, the building serves as the headquarters of the Nerchinsk Territorial Department of the State Forest Service for Zabaykalsky Krai.
